building my own turbo kit for 2006 apex attack

hey guys i was hoping you guys could share some info of what i have to look out for.

i read that a head shim or thicker head gasket is needed for higher boost.

what is a stock motor good for boost wise ?

are solid or more rigid motor mounts needed to prevent engine twisting that leads to premature belt failure ?

is there any open source tuning programs for the 2006 ecu's ?
if not i will run microsquirt and piggyback injectors.

can the stock headders and exhaust be used in rear mount turbo setups ?

is the stock fuel pump good for some added power or is another a must ?

my build will use a subaru turbo from a legacy gt 2005
i have in 11" x 11" x 2.5" intercooler and i have ability to fabricate anything.
don't believe me .. well i put a buick grand national engine into a subaru legacy and its still awd !

I will share what I know which is not much.......you can use the stock header for a rear mount. I cant tell you what the apex is good for boost wise on the stock fuel system but from what I have read it is better than the Nytro which is 6 psi sea level and about 8 at elevation. The motor can handle this stock.

If you go to higher boost levels the Boost It system seems to be very popular with the added injectors. But there are piggy backs available too.

This is what I have read and I have no real world experience but I figured I would try to get this started.

I am working on a kit on my Nytro right now, do a lot of research. The info is out there you just need to find it. There are many good sites out there including this one.

The problem with the MS is setting up a crank trigger for it. Some college(cant remember which) successfully set one up on a phazer for a fuel economy challenge of some sort.

If you can find that it might help ya. Good luck with the project and be sure to post pics!
