Buff Pass

I don't know, but usually until we get 17 threads asking about it nobody really seems to get it figured out

buff pass tomorrow 12/24/13?

Was thinking of going up to RE or Buff pass tomorrow? Everyone else has to work :face-icon-small-fro. Anyone down hit me up. Also I live in Golden and have a spot on my sled deck if you wanna car pool.

thinking about RE

Trying to get these panels to stay on my pro first. if I can get them mounted I'd be game to meet up there. Just having a hell of a time to get these effers to stay on and the stupid little screws to go in.

My dad and I will be heading up to rabbit ears early tomorrow morning from boulder but we only have a two place trailer. If you want to meet up there were always open to ride with someone.

I will be hitting RE around 9 and should be in the MC lot by about 9:30 or so. Will be myself and a buddy, for sure down to ride. Ill be in a big blue ford diesel.

doubtful

Likely going snowboarding as I've driven 6 hours 2 straight days not sure I'm ready to spend the day driving or not. If I go, I will be I'm a black tundra pulling a burandt gray trailer. if my furnace was working i would be there and stay the night on muddy creek.

in the am i'll decide. cheers

Conditions at Buff are great right now. All that fresh snow set up well and as of yesterday is really 'creamy'. Lots of float on the skis, super easy to thread it through the woods and set a sidehill, but trenched fairly easy. Couldn't make it up some pitches that I can normally do just fine. Was easy to get stuck. :face-icon-small-ton We dug a pit, north facing at roughly 45 degrees and despite having those persistent weak layers, it was surprisingly stable. After jumping on it, we actually had to cut the rutschblock in the back and pry on it to get that top slab to shear. It was roughly 2 ft of dense snow in that slab though, so if you set off a slab slide, its going to be big and dangerous. Lots of sluff slides, but otherwise no noted instability in the snowpack throughout the day. Be safe and have fun!

Rode there today....need to get up to about 7-8 miles from the parking lot in order to avoid many stumps/rocks.

Other than that, riding was great there today!

Rode there12-29-13

Rode there for the first time ever today.. Neat place to ride... Lots of powder and even more tracks up there today.... Thanks to the local grooming folks for a good job considering the traffic ...

parking was a bitch.. Who in the ;)/$;&:)/;:);$ made it so short..???? Must have been a federal dumb a$$.. On the other end of the state we park along one side of the road and keep lining them up so everyone has a place to both turn around and park...what a novel idea...!!!!

This is the age we live in now...when one spot gets a good dump everyone with internet access and their mother from 6 different states are headed that way. :mmph:
