took it apart to check and change the chain and sure enough broke!the only thing i see it doing is holding the gears together for easier install of cover!bolt end has been broke for sometime and can't get into the chain so is it worth it to change?

can see the polished spot been broke for a while this sled has 15oo boosted miles so i'm sure the bolts not doing much!

Same story for mine, checked at 700km, was broke. I put in another non yamaha bolt, now have 1500km but need to check when changing chain this fall. Would be worried about not running it just for warranty issues.

with the spring keeper in you can see no way for bolt head to get out.

most of the ones i read about where factory built so who knows? the bolts are sure soft drilled it out in 30 seconds!

Well guys I kinda started this whole ordeal early season...my stock bolt broke...I put in a grade 8 metric in like feb....pulled my case apart today and guess what....broke again...and been like that for a while...WTF is breaking it....I dont know what the answer is:eek:

did you shorten the bolt?mine was bottomed out maybe that is the problem, only thing i see it doing is making it easier to assemble anyways!

10.9 is what I used...still broke. My next idea is use a stud with a nut...anyone try this yet? Obviously the bolt isnt that important beacuse out of the 2000kms on my sled I betchya mines been broken 1500kms plus.

bolt and chain

1000km's on my nytro and my bolt is also broken; maybe shifting in and out of reverse has something to do with it? Still don’t understand y it is broken, I will show it to my local dealer and see what they say. I will post there comment’s tomorrow. Also did anyone notice that one side of the chain has sharp edges and little slivers on it, it was the inside of mine, and it was sharp enough to cut my finger.
