Brockway Summit?

I have seen some very nice pictures of the views from riding the trails at Brockway Summit near the north shore of Lake Tahoe.
The mountains there overlook the lake.
Does anybody have experience riding that area?

How much of a challenge is it to find parking?

Thanks, Dave

Dave:

Parking can be a little on the tight side depending how much area they cleared out. Forget it if you have a big 4-place enclosed trailer. Get there early and you should be OK. There is some good riding in that area. Just watch it blasting through the trees to the Northeast. All of a sudden you will be on a Northstar ski run. Not good. You can actually ride all the way over to Tahoe City. Have fun.

I grew up in Carnelian Bay riding that area tons. You can leave from brockway summit and head up towards Watson Peak, which is real nice spot that over looks the lake and has nice boondocking. Not much wide open space but tons of tree riding. You can also go to the top of Northstar Resort and park your sled and go in the little lodge up there and have a cold beer. They dont mind. You can go to tahoe city and truckee too on the 06 road. You can also head up to Martis Peak Lookout which is a sweet hut that overlooks all of tahoe, truckee and the sierra crest. Pretty Sweet. Get a map somewhere like the forest service and have fun.

best spot to un load is just past brockway summit on the lake side. turn on to north national ave and take a right onto regencey go all the way to where it dead ends. if you leave from there keep taking rights and you will end up on the "fiberboard" from there you can go where you want. i would definetly suggest checking out watson peak though. get a map or ask someone you see on the trail. pm me if ya want someone to ride with i might be headin that way this weekend.
