Breaking in 2004 liberty 800 Questions

F
Just got my motor back from Indydan, very impressed. Couple questions for you guys who have had a new motor for break in.

What oil do you recommend for premixing the first few tanks?

Which plugs do you guys run NGK or Champions?

Where can i find racegas to mix 25% with each tank?

Having trouble finding 110 (plymouth, MN)

Any other info is greatly appreciated. This is my first build, I know im behind because there is snow on the ground, but I wanna do it right the first time!

Thanks guys!

With my IndyDan motor I ran it without oil injection. I used Redline Snowmobile oil mixed at 32:1. Dan sends, or used to send all of that info about oil with his motors. Get a hold of him if you don't have that info. He's the one that warrenty's the motor so ask him what to use. He was very helpful when I have talked with him in the past. I also used NGK BPR9EIX plugs. I have had really good luck with them.

Second that ... Call Dan he is very helpful and delivers a exceptional product that he stands behind. I love my motor. How do you like those CPI pipes? You might be able to find race fuel at a tire and oil shop, co-op that sells bulk fuel, or talk to a manager or owner of a gas station to see how you might be able to get a drum. Perhaps a dealer may sell it in 5 gallon buckets or look for a specialized source like a custom motor builder for race or drag cars. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

Assuming your bottom is now setup for it, personally I'd run pre-mix in that motor; 40:1 trails, 32:1 mountains. Many good oil choices out there...

I think Champions and NGK are both good choices. I've had great luck with Champions though and tend to go with those.

You can get 110 at the Beaudry/Charlie Brown station in Elk River on Hwy 10. Good luck

I like to run 100LL "avgas" instead of 110 race fuel. In a snowmobile jetting situation it actually responds like 120 octane, and it's about half the price in my area. I ride a very thirsty 910 built from a liberty 800 and avgas is all I burn. J M O.

Run dino oil/Polaris Blue, and Champion RN57YCC only... And Dan should have given you recommendations on which oil and how much and he'll know if you run anything else other than recommended.

Dan did 2 motors for me this summer a 700 that crank bearing had froze due to oil pump crash . Also had him freshen my carls 911. He took the oil injection of both sleds. I am so happy i did that! Its not a big deal to premix and you end up with a motor you can see. I am doing what dan said and useing castrol 2T oil. Polaris blue is the only oil that they have that he has kind words for!! I have 10 gallons of the so called polars good oil that i want to get rid of.The castrol is so cheap and easy to fine. It does smell a little worse but who cares we got 2 strokes !
