brand new sledder

Howdy folks. I'm brand new at this and bought an '07 M8. Now that waterfowl season is over, I having nothing to do but work, sled, or chores. Now, if I don't work, there's no $$$ for sledding. So I gotta work. But, since I'm working and can afford fuel, etc, then I can continue blowing off chores until April comes around and I can start training the new pup.

Sounds like perfect logic. Only problem is, I'm going to need just a "little" help learning how to upright and dig out sleds:doh:

I'm in Maple Valley, and see that Sno Jammers is having a meeting Wednesday. I figured that would be a good spot to start. I've also read that there's usually a run from Greenwater to WJ for prime rib Thursdays. Is that something a rookie could handle? I know the headlight works :)

I might do a little bit of upland and waterfowl hunting ALL season long, then train the dawgs in the off-season. Other than that, I enjoy killing as many tuna I can in 3-6 trips out of Westport each summer. I'm looking forward to sledding.

Hope to meet some of you folks on the mtn.

cool dude, welcome

all sorts of peeps here, sounds like you will fit in just fine!!

Welcome, glad to have you here.....Good idea to go to the meeting and hook up with someone that will show you the ropes.

A beginner going to WJL with the Greenwater group is not the best idea. Most have to work the next day and wick it up a little on the trip home.....You don't want to be going fast in the dark and maybe getting left behind until you have a little more experience.....

Other than that, hang out here and you will find someone to ride with....

I recognize your name from Bloody decks. Warning: Sledding is just as addictive (and expensive) as tuna fishing. As they say over there, "Welcome to the dark side..."

Oh good Lord. That's not good at all!!!

I'm thinking that this weekend will be my first ride. Not sure where, so if anyone is looking for a newbie to break in, I'm your huckleberry. Otherwise, if you hear some crazy guy out there screaming like a little school girl... it's probably me :)

Do you have your own boat?

Nope, I have a better deal. 1 friend with a 24' Hewescraft and another with a 23' Parker. Both have matching 40g bait tanks :) :) this one actually made it in the Hewescraft catalog

Mine is not for tuna. It's a 22' North River Commander with hardtop. But, it does prety well in 5" of water. However, I'm looking into a 26'-28' Grady or 26' Pacific. Really depends on whether the "war dept" ends up wanting to weekend in the San Juans (Grady) or if I'm just looking for a killing machine (Pacific).
