Brake questions

So I'm running the P3 controller for my aluminum 4 place trailer. This will be the first year I'm running this trailer. Years past I had a 3 place open and did not have trailer brakes. So how should I adjust my controler in the snow conditions? I know how to set it up on normal roads but I know I should tune it for snow so I don't have it passing my rig.

Second question is about my actual brakes on the trailer. I jacked up my trailer to paint my wheels. I notice that on couple of the wheels that when I turned the tire and wheel it kind of catched when rotating. Now should there be no resistance when turning them? IF so do I need to have my brakes adjusted?

Thanks guys

Each trailer will vary slightly due to weight of the trailer and condition of the brakes. When roads get slick I turn the brake controller down slightly and then check the trailer tires when braking to ensure they are not skidding. My controller has two settings and I turn both of them down vs. what is used for dry roads.
I got in the habit to check this before getting into heavy traffic and always put a lot of distance between me and vehicle in front of me.

If this is a used trailer that you picked up I recommend pulling the drums and checking the condition of the brakes. Check the bearing while at it. I just replaced all the brakes on my enclosed. Two pads fell off when I pulled the drums and all of them were rusted so bad that a hammer wouldn't move the magnet! Thanks to wonderful road salt.
Youtube has some good videos on how to adjust electric trailer brakes as well. Pretty easy to do once you see it.

Anyone run the P3 controller here? If so should I turn boost off or just leave it on and turn way down?
