brake controller stays on, drains battery on my Dmax

I can't figure out what is going on. I have an 06 2500 GMC 6.6L Dmax 4x4 with a brake controller and a bully dog chip. Normally when I turn off the ignition and take my keys out, the brake controller turns off as does the chip monitor. For some reason now, these two things don't turn off and my battery was dead when I went out to start it tonight. Any ideas? I checked all the fuses under the hood, and the only way I can get these two things to turn off when the truck is off is to pull the fuses.

they should be wired into keyed power.. if they worked before then I would guess something in your switch assembly is bad as the power source you are using is now non-keyed always on power...

lots of thing like that have keyed main powere then constant battery power, the constant is for saving things like settings and such on a stereo, so they use almost NO power.. sounds like yours might somehow have gotten shorted, so the battery power is connecting to the keyed power and then they suck tons of juice.

Ski-Dooin it is right. how is your brake controller wired in? Are you using the factory harness? The Bullydog should be keyed power, if you are tied into the factory brake control harness thats keyed power as well.

Did you ever figure this out? I also have a duramax and my brake controller stays on once the truck is off, I keep unplugging the trailer over night.

I have a 2001 Silverado (1500 5.3L gas) with a factory harness to my brake controller and have had this happen twice. I just assumed it was the brake controller that got held up for some reason and kept the brakes engaged...even when the truck was turned off and the keys removed. Now I'm curious too???
