Brainerd, MN Grass Drags

Has anyone been to these? They are scheduled for Saturday. I'm interested in the swap meet and just wondered what size it is. Obviously it's not Haydays but can you find late model parts etc and make it worth your while?

im going. i want to see the watercross. i should bring my parts that didnt sell at haydays. mainly the 96 xcr 600 tripple tripple motor

Hello RJ, I posted details of the Brainerd swap & Drags in the MN section.
http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=316736

One of the club officers said last year they had about 100 "swappers", and a couple sled related vendors.

The water skipping contest is at BIR ,Brainerd Int'l Raceway, north on hiway 371.

The swap and drags is at the county fairgrounds, in the SE corner of Brainerd, across from the industrial park.

I will be there myself, helping out where needed.

BTW, they have been watering the grass strip regularly, so it should be in good shape.

how did the grass turn out?
the water was pretty allright

Good pics of BIR.
The grass drags and swap went well with many trailer loads of sleds of all ages and conditions, and 1,000's of parts.
Much vintage sleds, some rare.

The drags could have used a few more racers in my opinion, but perhaps competition from BIR detrtacted somewhat.

Good crowd, food vendors, JC's had a beer stand, Bristows and Brothers had big display trailers and many racks of sled clothing, helmets and acc'ys. Fox had a large display trailer also.
There were some smaller vendors with sled specific items.

Its impossible to find a weekend any more with out some duplication of events.

really, thats the mud hole they were using? i was up on the bleachers for the nhra lucas nationals and i looked at that and i said that can't be what there using for water cross?
