Boyesen reeds

ok...there are at least 3 different Boysen products for the 800 CFI. First there is their Super Stock which are essentially replacement read petals for the stock cages. These are epoxy glass, but look different than the OEM reeds. I have a set but never installed them...don't know how well they work or longevity. Next is are the Carbon Tech carbon fiber replacement reeds for the stock cages. These are available in mid and high tension lay-up. Carls Cycles used to recommend these in their motors. If you get these I would stick with the high tension for longevity reasons. I have run these in a dragon motor with decent results albeit reduced longevity vs stock. Last is the rage cage. These show good results on the dyno and are a 2 stage (upper carbon, lower(main) epoxy glass construction over a custom cast traditional V shaped reed block which has been designed for an improvement in intake velocity. There were some initial problems with the longevity of these, but have since been improved. These show about a 4hp improvement over stock. My only feed back on these was on my modified CFI 4 motor with the old design, and while they lasted they were much snappier than the OEM set up. Sorry, but no direct Pro exposure, but thought the rest of the info was worth posting.

Thanks for the input Neil. You mentioned longevity vs. stock. Were you referring to the reeds longevity or the motors longevity? Thanks

We have installed plenty of sets, the newest version from them. No durability issues and I had to add fuel to the current state of tune on these machines, one even needed another gram in the clutch to stay off the limiter. They all clearly ran better in my opinion as well.

Just picked up a set of the super stock single stage replacement pedals. Will install them in a NA sled and give them a try. Definitely a more cost effective alternative than the OEM. Will test for longevity.

TRS, Where did you find super stock pedals for the pro? I went on boyesens site and could only find carbon tech reeds...

After taking a little time to think and trying to help myself I notice that all cfi800 use the same reed block so I was able to find superstock reeds for the 08-10 cfi
