I pulled my air box and carbs to set my cutch allignment and the right boot came off the reed...very lucky to not have melted the ol motor after a complete rebuild!!! i did put a set of older boots i had on that were showing no signs of rips or tears but now they are f--- so i want to go to the boyesen rage cage alum housings but have not heard anything good or bad... If i go with the v force i am back to a rubber mounted style boot to do the same thing... i noticed that when the zx 800 is running the air box is moving around a bunch so i think i will screw a plastic spacer to box so it is tight to the tank cover... ANYONE have some advise THANKS IN ADVANCE...:clap2:

I recently had to upgrade my boots/reeds too...

From what I gathered, with Vforce the only thing to really worry about is the carbon fiber petals they use will eventually deteriorate and chip off into the motor.. causing some very bad things:face-icon-small-dis however, great crispy response on the throttle and you can buy replacement petals for about 60 beans and you would need to replace them about every 1000 miles - give or take.

Havent heard much at all on Boysen... which led me to buy the Vforce since that is what I run on my bike... didnt notice any hp gain, just cleaner throttle response..

Good luck to ya

cheers

Always ran vforce on my bikes running boysen on my 03 800 just because of the alum. to solve the delamination problem.

boyesen

just bought a set...because i think the alum. body is the way to go if i gain performance than great i just dont want to worry about the rubber on the stock ones...

I had the V Force 3 reeds i had nothing but trouble with them. First the pedals chipped the corners off and caused it to run lean and poorly. So i replaced the pedals and one of the cages must have been cracked, because it still didn't seem to run correctly and eventually wouldn't run and back fired a couple of times. So we removed them and one cage was busted and the pedals were cracked or broke off. They are JUNK.

I just put the Boyesen rage cage and wings in my 06 800 rev. I have only road it once since I put them in. I did notice that there is a noticable difference in throttle response over the stock ones. Would recomend.

I swithched to the Vforce cause I had no luck with the round rubber boots attaching the carbs they seemed so hard and all they did was rip. A buddy of mine burnt his down twice because they ripped on the bottom and they wern't old or in bad shape. Just my 2cents
