Boy, Am I Glad I Kept My 2012!!

Like many of you, I think that the Pro RMK is an outstanding sled and I don't think anything on the snow is quite as good.

I feel for the other Polaris owners that bought a 2013 and are experiencing problems or at the very least doubt in their latest sled.

My biggest concern however, is Polaris Industries complete silence on these issues. We're talking about possible life and death situations under very average circumstances and we haven't heard a peep from corporate.

Until I see Polaris acknowledge a problem or problems and that they're actively looking for a solution, I wouldn't think of doing business with them again.

They are looking for solutions right? :face-icon-small-con

So I stop by my dealer today and ask about buying a 2013. During the conversation I asked what they have heard about the driveshaft problem? I was told the Polaris rep for Utah is aware of the problem and said Polaris is getting failed driveshafts back for evaluation.

So I know this is second hand information but it appears that Polaris is aware but communication is painfully slow.

I have decided not to buy a 13. Maybe give it till the end of the season and see if there is a big sale like there was last year.

I believe they've been aware of it from the beginning. I'm sure it's not as easy as it would seem to get the fix done for all of the bad run sleds they suspect are having or will have a problem. When they have a solid fix, I would assume they will make some sort of announcement. I know that it's very frustrating to the people who've had the issues so far without confirmation that it isn't just them due to their riding style and landing jumps WOT :face-icon-small-con Who knows, maybe I'm way off here and maybe it'll just be us steel driveshaft guys up on the mountain side cutting through all the fresh powder, while the 2013 guys are stuck back in the shop using taptalk to vent on this forum :face-icon-small-sho

was thinking it was a few isolated events....

...until the largest snowmobile forum on the web created a completely separate section to discuss the problem...then sent an email to its premium members with a link to the section. How could anybody not take this seriously?

No way for Polaris to deny it now...thank you Snowest

Ok, lets all look at this from an honest perspective.... I cant think of one manufacturer that has not had some glitches on a first year sled. Now a company as big as they are (polaris) is not about to take a back seat with this sled, with all that they have brought to the table. I feel they will, if they havent already take the steps nessasary to remidy this small issue. Not to take anything away from any of the rest of them, but this IS the sled to keep your eye on for the future. The potential for the Pro is huge, and i think as it is with everything in this industry, the rest of the Manufacturers, will likely use it as a guide for their own. Trust me, nothing is sacred. For all you guys that have a 13, put it on the snow...ride it like you stole it, and ....then tell me you wish you wouldnt have bought it. Just sayin... Thanks!

I had my 11 Pro "totaled" by my insurance company this past summer. I had the choice to take the money and run and buy a 13, or rebuild my current ride. I chose the latter and couldn't be happier. VEI Boondocker tunnel, C3 belt drive, Avid drop-n-roll, everything powder coated, Alt Impact Ti A-arms, Camo Ex 2.5 163. I'm thinkin' I made the right choice. Besides all of my dirt bikes since I was a little kid have had my lucky number 11 on 'em, couldn't get myself to go to the "unlucky" 13. Superstitous I guess.

I'm not glad I bought the 13. I love my 2011 and now I wish I would've gone with the xm. I think the 13 pro will be a great sled and I'm thrilled with the belt drive, but the drive shaft is hanging over my head. DoI ride my 2011 and wait for a recall? Lame to have to think about it, I should be excited as all get out to ride my new sled.

Snowdawg, sweet sled.

I have a snowchecked 2013 PRO 800, no regrets and picked up a Black Friday special $$$ 2012 PRO 600, Great Dealer (Guys Outdoor), they switched all the red out for black:face-icon-small-hap

My biggest problem is that it's not snowing enough for us to ride in Colorado so that I can break some $hit. I'm tired of reading about it. Glad I have a 2013. One way or the other it will work fine.

I hear ya! Not enough snow to ride here either. Pretty soon I'll have enough extra crap installed to out weigh my last sled.
