BOXING - Bramble vs. Mancini II

Having grown up as a big boxing fan I loved last night as ESPN had the 1985 15 round title rematch of Bramble beating Mancini.

What a great fight!!!!. Wife refused to scratch my back uless I changed the channel..........I told her to take a hike.........I'm watching.

Bramble was one tough SOB.


The other one I really want to see again is Duran vs. Leonard in Montreal in which Duran won in a 15 round decision. I still think that was the best fight I ever saw. I saw it on closed circuit television in the New Haven Coliseam with my Dad. Hagler/Hearns (all 3 rounds) wes a close second.

my dad and i saw "boom boom" many times when he was a kid with golden gloves in Youngstown, OH...he would just beat the crap out of most all opponents in a round or two......fav fight....was that boza edwards that took an incredible beating only to win by knockout in the last round.....can't remember who he fought....remember?

That might have been Bobby Chacon which I think was his first title defence?

15 rounds with guys tough as nails and great boxing skills and refs who let then fight hurt....those were the days. This old photo of Mancini kinda sums it up.
