what type of blow off valve works good for a snowmobile? i got a cheapy on ebay and it doesnt work at all i guess there is not enough vacuum pressure to activate it. how much pressure does a 700 cfi pull does anybody know?

I used a greddy type rs bov. They come with two springs installed. I took it apart and pulled the inner spring out leaving just one in. The pressure signal for the bov must come from somewhere after the throttle plates in the throttle body. Now i'm running silbers charge tube and there wasn't room for a bov. I didn't notice any ill effects from not having one other than some light compressor surge when I chop the throttle.

i also have the silber charge tube and kit. i just mounted the bov on top of the air box . i get my signal from the spot recommended in the instructions for the boondocker race gas kit. i removed the one heavy spring as well. i am going to try cutting the spring down a little as that has been recommended to me tomorrow. a little hard since there is no snow here but i can run it up and down the yard a couple times quick just to check

took directions right from the boondockers race gas setup. drilled through the top of the throttle bodies right behind the throttle plate

Thats exactly how I did mine aswell. I put an old crappy belt on, and "brake boosted" my sled on the stand. The bov was closed at idle, but would work when i revved it up and chopped the throttle.

Were you having some problems that made you decide to use a bov? Just curious as I don't really miss having mine installed.

yeah i blew my boots off a couple times and i was forced to leave it in the trailer most of the trip and ride a backup. i just want to make all efforts possible to reduce the possibility of that happening again

I will sell you the greddy I have. Aprox 300mi on it, looks like brand new. PM me if your interested. Even have flange and gasket.

how much of the spring do you cut off. i dont want to cut too much off. i have been putting this off for some time now since my season is over but i probably should finish it so i dont forget it next season

I cut mine so it just barely has any tension on it with the valve closed. I ended up cutting it down then stretching it out so it was longer but lighter tension, but still with the valve closed it barely has any tension on it.
