Bov

Well it turns out I need a BOV for my sled i bought this thing ready to ride so i have been, Turns out i lost my turbo a couple weeks ago. The more i got to looking at the setup of the thing, and talking to some others on the subject, I don;t think i have one.


So My ????? Is what do I need??? The intercooler doesn't have the fitting for one, So do I need to have one installed bfore the cooler, and what would work best for boost at 12 - 17 pounds.

This is an 06 Apex with a stage 2 Alpine system on it, that i have been runnin at 12 pounds.

2nd. Would any of you have an extra one layin around????

if it is a Alpine,get ahold of them for your parts,and it will have a blow off valve,not sure what you mean by a stage 2,do you mean a 28?there are a lot of us here that can help you out might need more info

Yea it is a 28 and it seems as if there was a BOV inline to the intercooler but I think it was replaced with an aluminum sleeve?????

If you had a pic of the sleeve as you call it I might be able to help or call Dean at Alpine (250) 804-4334 and I'm sure he could hook you up with what they recommend on your kit.

yup it should be on your charge tube between itercooler & turbo not sure why somebody would have taken off real hard on your turbo without one.

Yea tat is what i thought, It really is amasing how fast you can learn about these turbos when thing aren;t quite right,

What really gets me is It would have been cheeper for me to know I needed to get one versus having to replace the turbo and then still needing to get one.

Alpine Apex kit has the BOV on the right hand side of the intercooloer(Sitting on the Sled.It is not in the chage tube.That,s only on the Vectors and RX-1.

Nope not one there. I have an older unit, My sticker on it says Alpine by Powderlight and there is no fitting on the cooler for a BOV, Seems to me that the used to be one in line in the charge tube ?????

No matter what you should get one put back on if there is none. Your motor will thank you and should run better.
