Bought snowmobile chassis off ebay? What would you do...?

Well awhile back I won a ZR3 chassis off Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=160192847487&_trksid=p3984.cWAT.m240.lVI

We talked and he said everything is in great shape, no cracks or bends. Well I drove about 18 hours total to pick it up... When I got there the whole rear bumper assembly was missing, and footwells were bent in pretty bad. My biggest complaint was that the whole bumper assembly was gone, that and the bellypans were the most valuable items to me. Well when I got there the guy wasnt even there, he had his younger brother do the transaction, who was kind of a *** about it also, acted like he could care lesss about missing stuff from the auction lol.

Anyways, I had his brother talk to the guy who I won the auction from, and after about 5 minutes they came up with no explanation as where the bumper vanished to, and asked me if I still wanted it... WTF? I've already spent more on gas then the whole auction was worth... so I *NICELY* asked him if his brother would consider 100$ for it (won @ 113$), as the bumper assembly was missing, and more problems that werent listed. He was all "year sure whatever", and after that off I went back home.

Well, the next day I left him neutral feedback on ebay, and not once was I rude to either of these guys. Mainly because I got scammed out of a 50$ bumper assembly... well he goes off and gets pissed, and leaves me negative feedback saying I haggled on the price and other BS.

What would you guys do? Trying to get Ebay to remove the negative feedback, otherwise nothing I can really do...

Also, this guy said he buys, parts out, and sells sled parts and stuff... guys name is "Ryan" and is located in Concord, Minnesota. Would avoid dealing with him if possible.

tunnel

I bought a tunnel from him as well. There wasn't anyone there when we pick, he just left it in frount of the house. All the parts were there in my case. I had the problem when going to title it. I know the people at the DMV and we will see what happens. It's applied for.

I have been doing the same thing on Ebay for some time and have had one or two bad deals. It takes time but Ebay will work with you and it will come out OK. Just save all your Emails from him and the ones you sent..

Sorry!! and good luck

Grant

Last i knew you can do a follow up to a negative comment, its still a negative comment but with your explanation under it to try and explain your side of the story. One negative wont hurt ya, i got one when i mailed a check for a primary spring and the bastard never talked to me again but the check was cashed-$10 and then leaves me a negative feedback for not paying, turns out a month later ebay kicks her off anyways and it removed the negative to a neutral.

That is the exact reason I stay away from ebay if I can.
They rip you off then give you negitive feeback.

I had problems with the same guy that you bought from. He bought some used belts from me, and filed a claim through Paypal saying that the belts weren't as described. They were used belts and cheap, what more could I say. I ended up refunding him. I would get with e-bay and Paypal(If used) and file a complaint. Good luck

try the security and resolution centre on Ebay. You should be able to at least change your feedback for this auction. It'll make others think twice before bidding on the sellers items in the future. I've always paid thru paypal so the one time I got screwed I got my money back.

Warning stolen items on EBAY !

Warning: Watch what you buy on Ebay. I bought a Sled on Ebay for what i thought was a good price ? It was HOT!!! And the guy was long gone. Found out the hard way ! Lost my purchase price. EBAY did Nothing about it !! BEWARE !! You could be the next to buy a Hot Sled or part ? How would you like your sled parted out on EBAY ? EBAY Could care less, they just want the money. There cut on the deal !!

Just as info on Ebay the seller must post the vin # of any licensed vehicles. get the number and the sellers name and call the DMV and see if there are any leans against it, what the owners name is, and if it's been reported stolen. If it doesn't all check out don't buy it.

Yeah, I could have bought a brand new john deere 4440 for $3,500.00.
I thought it was to good to be true told ebay the listing was gone the next day. Anything that is way cheap is almost always hot.

He had no right to give you negative feedback! I got screwed on Ebay last year too. Bought a set of TM 40mm rack carbs for my sled. Paid a fair price for them, they showed up relativley quickly and looked good. It took me a few weeks to put them on (Sled was half built), but in the meantime I give positive feedback. Well, I should have waited till I tried running them on the sled! Couldnt get them right, and eventually after a season or tuning found tiny bits of epoxy where all the balls are that seal up the passageways. Measured all possible orifices against a brand new set of carbs, and not one was right, the two carbs weren't even the same! I emailed the guy back and told him off but it was too late. It's too bad good guys get screwed like this, but what goes around comes around.

I know how you guys feel, I have bought junk that I though was good at a good price. When you buy stuff used it always a gamble. Hell even some new stuff sounds good on paper but isn't what you expected. It's Pretty tuff to find a good deal any more as there is always a reason why they are selling stuff cheap or not. In your case that guy took the bumper off, Someone like that needs a punch in the head as it's the only way that will smarted him up!! To bad bro people are very greedy creatures. Oh well you "Win some and lose some"

Offer the have the Feedback "mutually withdrawn". Then if he declines, offer to drive the 18 hours again and discuss it in person.:beer;

Getting to be a lot of scammers on ebay, lots of people buying wrecked sleds and parting them out and listing the parts as in good, excellent, like new or whatever and it's actually junk.
