So I’ve got a 2020 RMK Pro 850 with a little over 900 miles.
One of my last rides in early spring I noticed it developed a small rattle/knock only at idle. No loss of performance, no codes, etc
Sled still rips and pulls hard
Didn’t ride much after that and somewhat forgot about it
Started doing some preseason maintenance and discovered I had a broken primary spring. Went ahead and replaced that, thought surely that was the issue.
Sure enough the sled is still making a slight knock/rattle at idle
Worse at cold start
Eases up when the sled is warmed up
hoping it’s not a bearing failure in the bottom end?!
Sound completely goes away as soon as any load is put on motor, clutch doesn’t appear to be out of balance, and the noise seems to get worse/louder/more defined when the panels are on…
Any thoughts?
I am aware that the 2019s had a bearing problem and wondering if I might possibly have one of those **** crankshafts despite the sled being sold as a 2020?
A respected riding buddy says it’s exhaust valves but I’m not so sure
