Whats it going to cost me to install new bearings and seals on this sled? Asumeing the crank is good and I will be dooing the work my self. Thanks Dino

front and rear seals about 70 buckstotal from your dealer, bearings run about 130 each(4) and you have to have the inner 2 done buy a shop. the bottom end is hard to kill so with this said how many miles on it?

I think you can exchange for a rebuilt from cat for less than buying the parts. The rebuilts carry a factory warranty. The 900 bottom is pretty tuff, about the only problems I have heard of with them is getting knocked out of phase.

5000 HARD miles on it, I just thought it would be time to redo the bearings before it it broke in the back county!? Dino

just as digger said you might look at the exchange with cat.. 5k i think would be about time.

When I had my 04 900 Cat I did the crank at 5000 miles on one sled and 4800 miles on my wifes 900. We checked the run out and it was within spec but once we pulled it down I was glad I did the crank. I replaced both cranks with trued and welded ones... I wouldn't just do bearings and seals... just replace the crank with a good rebuilt one.

Get Cat crank.

Get the reconditioned crank from Cat and you will get new con-rod bearings as well.

My 03 900 crank failed and it was a con-rod bearing that went out.

Good luck
