Borken A-Arm

Three questions for ya.

Today something didn't feel or look right so I glance over and my right ski is wobbly. Apparently the A-arm bolt broke or the nut completely backed off and then the A-arm bent. I was about 20 miles out and lot's of wire got me back home - shweww.

1) So, what say ye, just buy another AC lower A-Arm and bolt and call it good? I have the bushing kit to replace all the front suspension bushings that is commonly recommended on this site.

2) Then I reads something about a recall on lower A-arms, but not for the 09 M8's?? Something about a special bracket - is it needed?

3) My machine has 6,300 miles on it and I had the Fox shocks rebuilt last winter because they were loosing air. Now the rebuilds are already loosing air with just a few hundred miles on them. Getting really sick of a collapsed suspensions. What's the best fix w/o going crazy $$ wise??

Thanks

Something just didn't feel right.jpg Much better.jpg bring plenty of wire and linesman pliers.jpg

fox zero pros and raptor TRS springs are the best bang for the buck to replace the floats.
looks like the nut just came off, new cat parts and go rip!

New a-arm. It is almost impossible to get the spindle mounting bolts in unless the a-arm holes line up perfectly.

Also, maybe it got broken off but I don't see a shock protector for the piston on the shock. (if you keep them I'd install protectors on the front shocks)

Were the shocks rebuilt by a reputable place? Maybe ask them what they think and if you're lucky they will redo them for free? I'd check the schrader valve and piston sealing area with some soapy water to see where the air is leaking. I would also closely inspect the piston surface for any dings or scratches and I believe the piston is replaceable if it is damaged.

The shocks were rebuilt by the local cat dealer. With that said the rear shock went flat within 1 mile after they rebuilt it. I took it back and he said he forgot to put oil in it - his mistake. Not much faith in there ability to service shocks.
