I drove over there this morning. Looks to be some good riding around. Has anybody ever ridden there or is it a forbidden land since it is so close to Breck?

I saw a couple bikes up there. Is yours a yammie?

I noticed that when you get to the top (treeline) both sides of the road have closed to sleds signs. Right near the USFS cabin. Those looked like good hills too!:mad:

Go through Breck, take a left at the last stoplight up Boreas Pass Road. The only problem I saw was lack of trailer parking. Definately a sled deck type place.

More info would be great! Chris, get your buddy on here and educate us please?

According to the maps, the entire boreas pass area is closed for sledding, but so is most of summit and guys ride that stuff all the time without getting into any trouble, doesn't make it right but if thats your style go for it.

I bought all the service road maps so we should get together this fall and take a look at whats really open and what is really closed, the forest service keeps lying to me when i call so i ended up buying the wilderness maps too!

Most of boreas is restricted access but jefferson pass/ tiger road is open for playing you can ride from breck to keystone to montezuma, to jefferson and if there is enough snow and your balls are big enough u can make your way to guanella pass. the only issue is the tour groups out of breck and avalanche danger is usually really high due to the winds in this area. I ride in from jefferson has better parking small trailers and sled beds highly recommended. hope this helps.

i was on a yammie, my buddies were on a green KLX and a white XR

I remember years ago me and Jeff (guy on the nytro you see me with a lot) drove up there to see if we could ride. He had a map that said it was OK but when we got up there we only saw hikers (snow shoeing and cross country skiing) we were REAL NEWBIE's at the time (Still had New Jersey license plates) and didn't feel comfortable launching.

My friends that ride and live in blue river aren't big riders so we won't see them here. Rich (Hillclimber) should def know. Let me email him.

I saw you guys. We were parked on the side in a black minivan eating lunch. Wish i would known, we could have chatted.

Yeah, so was the rest of the state. Drunks!:beer;:beer;

Saw some hotties yesterday in beer wench outfits

Well I'm fine if everyone thinks it's restricted, it's in my back yard, but according to here:

http://dillonrangerdistrict.com/winter_trail_list.htm

It's not. Hidden Gems will change that if it passess. The area by the "Post Office" at the top of the pass is restricted due to the 10th Mtn Div Hut that is there.

What he said, I have been over the pass, there are some big slide areas.

Other then that if you can avoid the XC ski nazis its ok. The snow is marginal and usally the parking areas are only plowed for subaru type vehicles
