Boot problems

Hey guys, my boots on my rmk's keep falling off....this time one ripped....problem appears to be ice inside of them pushing them off...when carving and deep snow running it appears that we are getting snow in the front of the muffler...melts and goes into steering assembly and is punching out my boots....

Questions:
1) Do I need boots???? what are they doing if snow comes in front anyways and ends up in steering

2) is there a way to block the front from snow without creating heating issues??

3) Any other ideas?

Thanks guys!
Randy

mine were filling with snow and getting pushed off. I replaced the tie straps on the boots and tightened them down good and snug. Have not had one fall off since.

we had a couple of the zip ties break and in turn having the boots slide down... but new zip tie and good to go

Extreme...was looking at mine again today...full again...you squish the rubber and can feel ice.
I ordered some of the fine screen like on the intake on the dash and am going to try and line the front venting with this to keep snow out.....

do you have any better ideas?

thanks.
