how many people are running m1000 gears with a boosted m8 are people gearing up or down i have a set of new m1000 gears i was thinking of using in my 08 m8 ovs at 10lbs i like to boondock would i be better off going the other direction gearing it down ive got 2500 miles on my current stock m8 gears i figure im on borrowed time.opinions?

I have 55/65 in my twisted m8. Im running 9# and it feels really good. Im a boondocker mostly and it has good bottom end torque and good throttle response. Pulls super strong top end also. As for life expectancy of gears im not too sure about that.

I figure im rolling the dice I've gotstock 800 gears and im tossing the idea of the 1000 gears.anyone else

my experience is that they are too high and build too much belt heat, and I have a m1000t that I run around 7-8lbs

Usually too high for boondocking on the M8. Belt heat is increased. For drag racing may be OK, but not for mtn riding.

I'm running the 1000 gears in my 2010 M8 153, Cutler Stage II at 6psi - had to, the thing was shifting right out. Riding in BC (all mountain riding) and it’s working really well. Everything from technical tree riding to chutes and bowls. Was using the 046 belt, wasn’t working so good, I have gone to 060 and it seems to be working so far.
