boondockers new control boxes

anyone have one of these on there sled? i like the idea of not having to hook up to a lap top and it seams way more simple than there original box.

would like a review on them.

anyone have put on on a apex?

cheers, mike

I run a boondocker turbo on my Nytro and I am very happy with it so far. The control box is easy to figure out and came pre-set with numbers from boondocker. As long as you read the directions it is very easy to adjust. Even if you get lost the guys at boondocker have been very helpful when I've called. Adjusting it on the hill takes all of 10-15 seconds. It also captures the max RPM and boost so you can make sure you aren't overboosting your engine.

The kit I have has push button adjustability for boost as well. Going big? no problem! All you have to do is adjust the boost for whatever you want to do. It takes me about 10 seconds to go from 10lbs of boost to 15.

What the box will NOT do is save you from burning down your sled due to a lean condition. you can adjust too lean or too rich if you set the numbers too high or low. As long as you run an A/F gauge or don't go crazy with the numbers you'll be fine.

hi apex06,
if you want a permanent solution for your sled buy the motec direct plugin standalone and you will tune once and for all....full of features and once tune, it is forever(like oem) best solution for me right now.

from what i can tell you need a lap top and from what i see they are 3-4x the price of boondockers.

Thats probably right because its a complete fuel system not just a piggyback controller. I'm 90 percent I'm going with the boost-it. There are many happy customers that came from piggyback and stand alone systems. Have not seen anybody complaining yet and he will buy it back if your not happy with it.

then i must be looking at a wrong website? got a site? how does he compare with pricing?
We have a website under construction, and there is a link in my signature.

One of the things you will find with our products, is that we ride and test them constantly. We do this in the same conditions that all mountain riders ride in. We ride trees, meadows, trails, and chutes.
We have enough kits on the snow now that we know how to program the controller before it ever hits the snow, and most users never touch the controller again.

I put the Boost It system on my Nytro......best thing I could've put on. You get what you pay for and the Boost It system is worth every penny, not to mention Neil will answer any questions or help with any tuning if it ever came up.......which I haven't had to worry about.

I don't know what the Boondocker system is worth but after having 2 turbo's I've learned you get what you pay for and like I said, the Boost It system is worth ever penny.

That's very understandable. Everyone has a budget. It is a complete fuel system as opposed to a piggy back unit that tricks the factory settings and increases duty cycle. The other cool thing is that it gives you unlimited fuel in case you do want to increase boost levels.

NM does bring up a good point. The BD box only modifies the signal from the stock ECU to add or subtract fuel. If you turn up the boost and add fuel you can push the stock injectors to 100% of their duty cycle pretty easily.

boost it made me stop hating my nytro and start liking it again worth every penny to be able to know your sled will run good everyday. i would suggest the kit to everyone with a turbo.
