Boondocker using HKS in their kits?

Is boondocker, cutler, twisted using WG/HKS turbos in their m1000 kits? A friend recently purchased a used kit and there is a GT2835 stamped on the tag on the turbo with it.. How many of you have the WG/HKS? We are wanting to add a non gated vband tial .64 housing for a m8 sled he wants too build.. WHo has experience with this wg turbo? Its apparently has a smaller 56 mm turbine wheel with different wheel properties than its full size big brother gt3071r with the 60mm wheel..

Well after researching the rest of the numbers on the tag it seems its a garrett hybrid gt30 turbine wheel cut and stuffed internal t25 flanged internal gt25-28 turbine housing. It has the same wheel specs as the 3071 wg..

I'm still not sure why anyone would buy a turbo kit with a wg turbo.. I've heard of severel other companies using them too to save money..

With a clipped/cut smaller wheel, you are stuck with that housing, without a lot of machine work?

With it having a 56mm turbine a guy cant use the full size 60mm housings.

Garrett claims on their website you can use a 2860 turbine housing.
