Boondocker turbo

I took my boondocker pro out this weekend to test all my latest tweaks.
I've got it running pretty sweet. With the cold air intake and the third injector working and turning on at 5lbs i never saw my charge temps over 135 degrees. We were riding in 60 degree weather which is saying alot. I did chute pull after chute pull at 10lbs and it ran flawless on 50/50 Av/Premium.
Track speed in heavy slushy snow at the top of each pull was 62mph at 10.5lbs and at 9lbs it dropped of to about 52-55 mph. I didn't think there would b that type of difference but 1 pound of boost is alot. The bottom and top end run flawless and even better than our stock pro response wise. I did change my reeds before the ride and i did double stack the bottoms. I wanted to see how the third injector helps with cooling and lubrication for longer reed life.
So the interesting part was when i turned my third injector off and tried to run the same boost levels the HP went down quite a bit, the charge temps went from 135 to 186. By having my third injector on at 5lbs i thought my mileage would go down quite a bit but i rode 52 miles and still had a quarter tank. We were riding in 3ft deep wet snow all day so all in all the sled performed perfect at those levels. So in 30 degree outside temps or lower it should run even better.

So I want to make sure I read that correctly....you stacked your reeds? Meaning that you have a double layer of reed petals on the bottom of the cage?

Would that make it a little harder for them to open? Wouldn't it take a little more fuel mixture pressur to push though them? Would that decrease the efficiency of the charge?

I did stack my bottom sets of reeds. I pulled off my old ones and cut them in half and put them on top of my new set of reeds. It strengthens the integrity of the reeds, allowing them to stay against the reed cage were there supposed to b.
A stock pro only flows air through the reeds. The injectors r mounted to case of motor after reeds, so reeds only get a slight back splash of fuel if any. That's why heat is a killer on a pro in stock form and especially on a turbo. Add fuel before reeds (third injector)and u not only cool the air but u also lube the reeds and reed problems solved. I didn't notice any difference on response by stacking on the pro(probably because 2 of the injectors don't flow through reed cage). On my cats I can notice a difference when double stacking because all fuel goes through reeds.
So on pro efficiency is increased by cooling temps in the charge tube with third injector( more hp) as for double stacking that's for reed longevity which maybe I didn't need to do now that I have third injector working, but oh well.
FYI when your sled starts to idle below 1800rpm and is sporadic your reeds are probably shot. Hope I answered your questions.

Are you back to the stock boondocker injector or still experimenting with the smaller injector? With the Cat, you can just buy the reed petals, I'd like to find a similar scenario with the polaris, although, it sounds as if the third injector will alleviate the reed problems all-together.

I am back to stock boondocker third injector. I use Boysen reeds for my replacements.
U can only access third injector in super tune mode

I believe that boondocker is coming out with modified reeds shortly for the PRO's

Does boysen just sell the petal, will it mount to the stock cages?

Yes.. and Yes.
Boondocker says they don't last.
I have a stock petal on top of the Boysen petal on one sled
And 2 stock petals in the other.
Both have over 200 miles and seem to be working well... (knock on wood)

So when you turn on your third injector. Are you adding alot of fuel with it? Then taking fuel away from the factory injectors or are you just adding enough to cool the charge/reeds and just removing a small amount from the factory injectors?

Third injector

When I turned the third injector on I had to back off the 7500,8200,8500 by only 2 points on HI. It needs the third injector on over 6.5lbs in my opinion

I have asked this before and haven't really got and answer. I have read that couple of snowesters are running the third injector. Do you know why BD has them turned off, or why they don't come turned on?
