Boondocker rg 2015 pro high idle - tried to seize

Sled was running great, I began noticing it would high idle when coming to a stop after riding it hard. 1900 vs the normal 1400/1500

My egts will spike sometimes but never over 1300, I see 1240-1270 often.

Yesterday I came to a stop and it high idled 1900/2000 then shut off. Think it was trying to seize. I let it cool and kept rolling the clutch over to keep it free. Got it restarted and back home.

It starts and sounds kind of ok but is idling at 2300/2500.

Where do I start? Think I could be sucking air somewhere?

what do the plugs look like? what is the compression? I would start their. {I was told just a small spray of starter fluid at the crank seals or P.O.I. to see a leak or try to get it to idle up}

You can use starter fluid but it's pretty harsh and no lube, I like Wd-40 better..

When I first pulled the plugs yesterday when it acted up they were light brown.

Today I've let it idle a bit to see if it will go down and it won't, stays around 2k. Plugs are dark..

Haven't compression tested it yet, I will but even if it has low compression how would that be relative to high idle?

I was running about 50/50 av and 91 pump non eth yesterday, but I turned the boost down to 8lbs.

Also no check engine light..

starter fluid is harsh but you are looking for a small leak just don't know if Wd 40 is going to show ya like starter fluid will. your not trying to start your engine just idle it up using a crack in a seal/gasket that air is barely squeaking in but if Wd 40 works...
The compression test would be to see if your working with a good engine you said you were turning the clutch by hand to keep it from seizing so u could get her home . u said it starts and sounds kind of ok?
Hmmm had a bud fray a cable and wasn't releasing throttle might be worth a look? I all ways start with the KISS method

If you had a seal/air leak, your mixture would be lean. I would expect the plugs to be lighter in color than normal, not darker. And if your running an afr, I would expect the number to show lean at idle as well.

I would check the normal idle related things like throttle position sensor, throttle cable, throttle safety switch, thumb throttle for full movement. Probably start with the throttle position sensor, seems like a lot of people have had problems with those going out of adjustment/acting up.

Also, If you really think it tried to seize, Pull your exhaust valves and take a look at the exhaust side of the piston. Should be scuffed pretty good if they were "fitting" that tight in the cylinders. Gives you a good excuse to clean your exhaust valves if everything looks good inside. I am hoping your throttle safety switch kicked in and caused it to die, ecu thinking that it was under throttle with no operator because you were off the gas and idled up still.

No air fuel gauge, just egt. when I first pulled the plugs they were what I like to see, a light cardboard brown color. I've let it idle some since then and it idles high and the plugs are much darker.

I'm running a RSI throttle block with the TSS taped down under the hood.

I did notice the cable is seeming tight, even when the throttle closed against the block there isn't the amount of play I'd like.

I'm going to compression test it and pull the exhaust valves when I get home this afternoon.

if they look good, I might tear into it and see if I chipped a reed and if that is what I felt when I was rolling it over?

On the way back to the truck it still ran strong, just high idle 2,200-2,500rpm then, 2,200 at home..
