boondocker question

I have a 12 pro with the non-intercooled boondocker. Running 8lbs @ 2500 ft. It runs really lean on the trail at about 5500 rpm 1/3 throttle. Running stock numbers from the website , have tried to add fuel and it seems to stay lean. Anyone experience this? I have heard an intercooler would help?

How do youi know it is lean. are you running a o2 sensor?How lean is it? mine will run at 14.6 ish right around there.

Running EGT's. It keeps climbing if I don't vary throttle position. And I melted it down last yr while not paying attention.

You cant run a steady 1/3 throttle or jus cruise down the trail. You are always going to have to varying the throttle. The only way you can is if you get the vipec ecu, not sure but I think they are doing same thing with bulldog.

Must vary throttle

If you hold the throttle in one position for more than 6 seconds the ecu goes into lean mode for emissions. Add a turbo to that and it will burn down! You MUST be on and off the throttle all the time!
