I heard the kits are ripping now which is awesome. I have heard however that there might be an issue with over reving when the track gets "unloaded".
Anyone experiencing this?? I hear when it happens that the sled basically cuts out/off and you have to kill it and restart to resolve the issue. If that's the case I would guess it would happen on the other turbos too.
Just wondering if anyone is seeing this and if there is a way to avoid it or work around it. I don't want to have to worry about the sled cutting out if I pin it and the track breaks loose.
Thanks

That happened to Jermy Osler at the bear lake hill climb as he was cresting the hill the sled detonated and went into limp mode from then on all the Boondocker sleds had there det sensors removed however Aerocharger's sleds ran all weekend with the det sensors on the engine but what strikes me as honorable is Aerochargers pro kits are still on the shelf and wont be released until there they no for sure you will have no problems!!

Inked, Tell it straight or not at all, half truths and twisted words just aint gonna fly. Jeremy Oslers 600 is not a pro, he did hit the det sensor yes, But as this thread is directed at pros, you forgot to include that Jeremy did qualify on his PRO with one of the fastest times. Matter of fact the BD PRO's all qualified with fast times. The results today will tell the official story, then people can base their decisions off of fact not B.S.

I never said that they were not fast, the sleds ran very well and I was impressed, but pro or not the Boondocker kit still hit the det sensor that's all I am saying. So why did they remove the sensors on the rest of them?

So I appreciate the input. But is the over reving thing the same as hitting the det sensor?? I was under the impression that those are two different things. I don't know a ton about turbos, so just trying to learn the information.

If I understand it right the Pro's computer will shut down the sled if it revs over a certain RPM limit, which is not the same as detonation. That's why I was thinking it could happen to any turbo and wondered how you would control it?? So if the turbo is really cranking and your on a climb but you hit a bump tossing the sled up and out of the snow will all that track speed and turbo boost spike the rpms and put the sled in a limp mode??

I had a BD turbo on my 08 D 700 and never ran into any issues like that. I could pin that thing to the bars all day and it flat out ripped. I am just wondering on the PROs if that is happening and if you can fix it??
Thanks

I don't think over reving can cause it to go into limp mode and show a det light. All I want is for Boondocker to admit there is a problem with DET and I will leave them alone!! Also I was wrong about the 600 it is not a pro but it still hit the DET light and went into limp mode and the 600 was running the 3d which is still a problem.

I've heard that if the Pro's over rev and hit the rev limiter, it sometimes triggers the det sensor. So you should clutch accordingly.

As I said in other thread, the 600 is not running the 3D mapping.

Ran all day today jumped it in and out of the snow 50/50 mix on AV and 91

BUT I am running almost 75 grams on my weights. I ran 8.5lbs all day with 10lbs on the button and the snow was getting deep so I had it WOT for a bit hit 8150rpm on the max record at 9100 ft showing on the EBC once in a wile it would over-rev if a had the PTP button on 10lbs and kept it WOT wile the track was in the air it never hit the DET though but I have mine set to go rich when it hits the rev limiter. VIDS will be up Monday was a great ride ran out of fumes.

The only problem I had all day was the vid camera trying to crap out on me.

NOT ONCE DID I HIT THE DET

Correct me if I'm wrong but when you hit a rev limiter, the ignition timing retards keeping it from revving any higher. This could easily set off a det sensor and be an issue. But it will also do it on a stocker, the addition of a turbo doesn't change that. If you clutch it right, this shouldn't be an issue, at least no more than it is on a stocker.

It does bone stock for sure...mine did it when I was light on clutching...turned the det light on every time I overrevved, once I stopped and added heavier rivits..it stopped immediately ..not to be repeated that day....

OK, so what I am getting is that this is an issue with clutching and can be fixed (if it happens) by adding heavier weights or adjusting the clutching set up.
Makes sense. Thanks guys.

I was also told one the BD sleds this weekend with a intercooler was pulling 80grams with charge temps in the 130's so this thing is starting to put some serious hp to the ground but without a very efficient intercooler I don't think I can pull 80 yet so I can't wait to get a good intercooler on this setup.
