boondocker power resistor, anyone used one?

i just bought a boondocker power resistor to put on my sled because i took off the headlights, its a single 100w resistor that says to install it right by the voltage reg on the yellow wire. has anyone used one of these? the other kit i saw was two resistors that were installed in the front of the sled up by where the headlight/gauge harness plugged into the hood. just wondering if connecting by the regulator does the same thing as putting it in the headlight circuit?
any help would be great!
thanks in advance

Sorry don't know the answer, but I would like to expand on the question. If you were running egts and or a boondocker box, would this draw enough power to where you would not need the resistor, given the same scenario as above.

thats a good one too, cuz im running a turbo so i have a bigger fuel pump, pure logic box and a A/f gauge. maybe that draws enough?

I run one on my 06 M7. I have a factory plugin end on it that I plug into the harness that I have to unplug to remove my hood. I have the wire to the resistor installed in the plugin so it draws the power meant for the lights. I run an EGT, AEM air/fuel and a Pure Logic controller and still run this. I figure the boondocker resistor is cheap insurance compared to buying a new ecu.

I have one on my 07 M1000. No headlights. I spliced it in with one of the wires from my bright/dim switch that had constant power. The resistor runs pretty warm, easy to know if it's doing its job.

any chance you guys could post pics? i would like to get some ideas before i go putting this thing on.
thanks for the replys

I ran my m-7 for a full season with egt, bd box and always kept my hand warmers on high with no problems UNTIL my one hand warmer quit and so did my ECU.

Now I just run a little light one on bright and one on dim and no problems.
