Installing a used BD pumpgas kit and although the instructions indicate running coolant lines to the turbo many if not all the pics I see show open ports. Is this an issue, oversight, or what? Recommendations please. Also, we are missing the boondocker support plate for the throttle body boots, is it a must have for a pump gas kit? Is it worth doing the plate or should a guy go straight to the billet set-up? No plans to run over 10psi.
Cheers,
GKR

The throttle body boots blowout really easy from my experience. I went through two last season before I bought the support plate from BD.

If you don't go with the billet throttle body boots I would definitely get the support plate. I have had BD turbos since 2008 and have run with and without the support plate. Worth the $ and the few days wait it would take to have it shipped to you.

What year is your sled? Polaris updated the throttle body intake boots to a different part number than when delivered. I put a BD turbo on my 08 and the boots blew out the first ride but I didn't know it. They looked perfectly fine when I installed the kit and they still blew out. It was only detectable when I tried to run 12 lbs. It would run 8 and 10 but when I turned it to 12 it would only produce 11. I it would run pretty good but I was having tuning issues. I finally pulled it apart and found a tear in it. Ordered a new boot with the updated part number and have had no problems. I ran 12 lbs for most of the season an pulled it and inspected it still looked good.

I would just start fresh so you don't have tuning issues. Order new reeds, intake boot and intake boost plate. Then you know you will be good for the season and don't have to worry.

As far as coolant lines to the turbo are you asking if you should run them?

Yes, as to the coolant lines. Seems like a no-brainer to run them and I have every intent to. Just happened to notice in a bunch of pictures of installs, including one on Boondockers own site the ports are open. Could be coincidence but I'm interested to know if people are running them without connecting the coolant lines and if so, why? I plan on running the lines unless I learn something here that might tell me otherwise.

Yes run them. I noticed that when I did my install you can't really rely on the pictures. I called numerous times with questions because of the pictures where confusing, or different as you have found. Just use the pictures as a general help.
