Boondocker M7 turbo problem

Posted this in the Arctic Cat secion as well, as I'm not sure where I will get the best results.

A buddy rides a 2007 Boondockers M7 turbo @ 9psi on C-14. Last ride he noticed a bog going to full power, that started at 7500rpm up to 7800rpm. Sled runs fine from idle up through midrange. He pulled the plugs and found one cylinder a chocolate brown and the other not white but had hardly any color at all. Obviously the one side is lean but why??? He did find a tear in the belows of one of the exhaust valves, but this was on the cylinder that was running chocolate brown. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Sean

when a turbo has a lean problem you should check every thing , fuel pump , voltage, ground wires, boost leaks, injectors could be not fireing, low fuel pressure on boost.

Boondocker M7 turbo trouble

Thanks Product tester will start with what you suggested. It seems funny that only one cylinder is lean. This problem just occoured over night, before yesterday the sled ran flawless.

ttt

I have the exact same problem right now, and it all began with a tear in my bellow on the exhaust valve. more info would greatly be appreciated. or if you find a solution let me know.

Aside from checking for signs of obvious boost leaks (cracks/leaks in exhaust & intake), be sure to also check the condition of your reeds (very common to suddenly go bad), and I'd change the plugs (sometimes hidden cracks form, or they foul from lead deposits), and check the condition of your exhaust valve cables.
