boondocker EBC

I think they are better suited for a race gas kit or one that can run from pump to race. You can't really utilize all the features with just a pump gas kit. I believe they claim they spool up quicker with the ebc. The newer ones are a lot more user friendly.
 
dont you just turn it to the amount of boost you want to run and thats where it runs? No counting clicks and watching the boost gauge?
 
The 09 EBC NO wile it was still ahead of it's time it pales in comparison to the 2010 EBC

The 2010 EBC YES

The 2010 EBC is a boosted based program what this means is you enter in 8.5 or say 7.3lbs and it will match this target boost. It will also keep it at this level all day long at 1500ft or if you climb to 12000ft. It does not loose or gain boost.

Now for this year it is a simple 3 settings OFF ON or x2

When you turn it on if say you start at the truck at 3000ft your atmospheric psi is 13.2 you set your boost at 7psi. Ok now your climb the mountain now you are at 8500ft or 10.7 atmospheric psi so you just lost 2.5 PSI. That's allot of HP so the EBC simply adds that 2.5psi lost back into the boost so you keep close to the same HP levels as possible. Same when you go back down the mountain it lowers the boost back down to 7psi when you get back to the truck.

There is also a x2 setting but mostly is geared for the high boost Yamaha or 2stroke guys for every .1psi of atmospheric psi lost it gains .2 psi of boost so your boost ramps up very fast.

I use this all the time on my sleds I set the boost at 8lbs and add 2lbs on the button or sometimes 4 on the button wile I use for pulling a quick shoot or right before you get stuck you can use it to pull out or the best results are when you are racing another turbo just hit the button and walk on past them.

It also shows your current elevation but most sleds now days have this option in the OEM gauge. Also this year the screen stays clean from snow.

Allot more to come down the road as well.
 
My ebc works great on a pump gas turbo. Numbers are a little fat from boondocker but is safe for starting out. Nice not to have to worry about setting up boost as you go up, but more important is not forgeting to set boost back down at the end of the day. Best money I have spent (other than a restocking fee)....Gspot
 
ditto, if one could be run without the stinking (sorry I'm obligated to add that) bd box, I'd be interested.

You'll still have temp issues which will change your max boost during the day, but I'd be interested in running a better boost control.

I like the idea of PTP, I think it'd be handy in a big pull.

Are there any other boost controllers that work on a sled, particularly one that could be accessed without opening the hood?
 
Air I have sold many of these to non BD kits even a turbo watercraft they work on any boosted performance machine.
 
Backdoorislife why don't you tell us why you don't like the b d box instead of just bad mouthing it. I ran one on my M-7 and liked it and now one on my pgturbo and it is easy to adjust. Add the ebc and even this old man can run it. Enlighten me oh great one......

Hey... ease up, I'm tryin to give them a chance. (

I've explained why I don't like them or the bd box before, but I'm willing to give other products a chance.

I've also said that if you buy from guys like snow JW or VOHK, you're probably gonna be happy either way! (even with that POS box they have!)

Took my buddies 2010 hcr with a race gas kit. The new ebc is so much nicer than the first one that I have on my sled. I have to change my tune on the other post. The new ebc is awesome.
 
I have to say the EBC does EXACTLY what they say it does. You set your boost and it takes care of it from there. You dont have to worry about changing it as you go up or down in elevation. It holds the boost right where you set it. Extremely simply to adjust. I rode with an older BD turbo for the past few years and almost didnt consider them for my setup. This new kit from BD is the real deal. I have had ZERO issues with it. Not to say the other guys dont have good stuff, just saying these new kits rock! I keep waiting for the ride when some gremlin will pop up but I gotta say Im still all smiles :face-icon-small-ton Recommend the EBC to anyone!
 
i took my hand at tryin to tune and ebc with a pg m1000 turbo and didnt like it and its not like i dont tune with a bd box either having one myself. and have done tuneing with other turbo kits on at least half a dozen other sleds with success. not claiming experteece just offering an opinion. i heard of other ppl having the same issues but i also heard the ebc works better with the 8.

What year? Going by what turboless terry said, I'm curious of the differences from the old to new. Last ones I have time playing with were 09. (a lot can change in 2 years)
