what are people using for an oil drain ? i was using just a copper tube from the turbo to the crankcase but it didnt have enough slope so i put an inline pump in, but im wondering what other people have done... i also built a 3 inch side exit exhaust pipe and was wondering what other sleds with this kit on are using...

That 3" sidepipe is almost identical to the one I ran. The drain on mine went just below the turbo into the plastic screw in cap on the stator cover timing viewer thingy...with no electric pump.

oil drain

I installed a 2871 on a 06 apex, I found that the boondocker kit had the oil drain running slightly up hill do to the fittings on the bottom of the turbo . I took a small block of steel and made a drain manifold that eliminated the sweeping 90 deg. drain fitting on the hose .It made the oil exiting the turbo run down hill to the mag. cover in turn fixed the oil in the intake problem

wouldnt happen to have any pix would you ?

Every bd kit have been around or helped install. They all drain into the mag housing. BD should be able to get you the fitting. Then its a short run of hose from the turbo drain to the mag housing.

oil drain

I do not have any pic's but, if you dont have a mill you could take a flat pice of steel drill three holes in it two for mounting and one for the drain take a no.4 jic close 90 weld it over the drain hole in the plate the object is to get the oil running to the mag cover as soon as it exit's the turbo otherwise when it comes out of the turbo on the BD. set up it travels thur a mounting plate, no 4 fitting ,and then goes thur a no4 sweeping hose fitting before it heads to the mag cover . So the oil has to travel 1 1/2 down before it can flow over to the mag cover . On the machine I was working on that 1 1/2 put the oil running up hill after i made the drail manifold it only traveled 1/4 inch which gave the oil drain line a small down hill slope . And as far as I know the sled has never had any more oil problems .

okay im still having a problem envisioning this...... though ive never seen a "stock" bd oil drain setup. i put a 2871 on as well and i doubt that helped lol, the drain plug out of the turbo is about 3/4 of an inch above the fitting into the crankcase.... basically what your getting at is just taking like a 45 degree fitting (from the bottom of the turbo) and run say a copper line from that to the fitting on the motor ? or should it drop straight down a ways then flow towards the motor... fawk i wish you had pix lol

I see you are in Alberta, If there is a Greenline near you, if not there are two here in Calgary, I've had them make me custom fittings in the past past for me, they used to have a guy there who could make anything, I think his name was Jason, but there is another guy at the 61 ave location who is really good as well.
