Bolt came out of bottom of motor??

I was out in Wy last week and found a bolt under my clutches after riding one day. Looked all over and could not figure out where it came from. Loaded up and came home. On the way home I was thinking I bet it came from under the motor where the case bolts to the motor plate. Last night I pulled the muffler off and I could reach in and feel that it was the rear bolt on the mag side. Problem is it appears that it pulled threads out of the case when it came out. I cleaned up the bolt but there was for sure metal in the threads of the bolt.

I am taking the sled to the dealer on Saturday as it appeared to met that the motor would need to be pulled out to get the room to get this bolt back in and I don't have the time this next week to mess with it.

Do you think this will be covered on the 4 yr warranty? To me it seems that it would be but I have never really dealt with that much.

Sled is a 2011 PRO 155.

Thanks

What did the bolt look like? I found an Allen head bolt, just like the one that holds the recoil assembly on, laying between my QD belt and the can. I couldn't find where it came from. I was wondering if some flunkie dropped a bolt when they were putting the sled together and didn't bother to look for it. I had to roll the sled over last weekend, so maybe it dislodged????

Is it a black torx bolt?

Where the footwell plastic bolts to the foot bars is where that bolt goes...mine raddled out last weekend. 13 Pro

If you haven't done it yet look at a polaris parts microfiche and see where it goes..Should help identify it.

hey bud, had the same thing happen to my 2013 pro rmk. Found it lying by my quick drive. its the same bolt that holds on the QD gears. I grabbed the clutch and the motor moves half an inch. Looked under the motor and its the PTO front motor bolt that fell out. going to talk to dealer.

Well I did some investigating on the parts diagram and figured out where my bolt came from. The only M6 bolts I can find in the diagram are the ones that hold the recoil assembly on. There is an empty hole where it looks like this one came from. Problem is, under further investigation, it appears that the bolt is broken off, and part of the threaded section must still be in the case. Someone must have over-torqued it when putting it together. It's in an area that will require taking part of the subframe/chassis apart to get to. There should be 8 total bolts holding the cover on, I have 7 of 8. I'm thinking I will be OK for now, but should get it fixed the next time I have the sled back to the dealer.

I'm pretty sure there was a recall or bulletin on the 2011 Pro for not having locktite installed on the motor mount bolts. Several sleds around here had motor mount bolts fall out. Maybe your dealer can run the VIN and see if this work was completed as a result of that bulletin.
