Just got off the phone with my dealer, Polaris is leading them to the VES system causing my top end bog, so far they have checked all wiring, put new TPS,new injectors with no success. Can any one tell me how the the little solenoid on the VES works? will vacuum make the solenoid send a signal or is the solenoid controlling vacuum ?

Top End Bog or clutching?

Not sure what or how bad of a bog you are talking about. Will you describe it in more detail. I just noticed a little top end drop in RPM's. Going down the trail and out on the flat on a lake I pin it and the RPM winds up to 8100 sometimes 8150. While holdling it to the bar WFO I noticed the RPM slowly dropped down to 7850 7900. Any help to what is causing this would be great. My question is, "Is this just clutching and my track starting to hook up?" or "Is this the top end bog that some are talking about?"

Seems like they are taking their time troubleshooting your sled. My dealer swapped, injectors, voltage regulator, exhaust valve solenoid, barometric pressure sensor, pipe temps sensor and tps in two days. The last item on the list to swap was the stator.

They swapped the stator today and my sled is fixed. They did multiple test runs and couldn't get it to repeat the bog finally. Cant wait to hit the mountains!

I hope this works for you. My dealer has replaced all the things yours has and it still bogs at about 6500 rpm. Thats right around where the exhaust valves are supposed to open.

Dealer fond one of the holes on the exhaust valves plugged so bad it did not look like a hole should be their and he all so notice a momentary drop(only one time) in the fuel pump pressure and could not get it to do it again, opened up the hole on the exhaust valve and put a new fuel pump in, went for a ride today put on about 30 miles and the sled has never run so good. The exhaust valves had been cleaned and the holes were open at the end of last season, not sure how the hole got plugged so quick.

Stoked for you that your sled is fixed.

Aggravating to hear stories like yours where the injectors were replaced along with TPS(which are/were on backorder) when the problem looks like it was plugged powervalves.

Dealers inability to troubleshoot seems to be my rant his year.

Again, really happy for you. Congrats and go rip with that sled!

Thanks Murph, It is great to have a sled running good, just hope it will last, it took till the second ride the last time we thought it was fixed for the bog to show up again. Any ideas on how the hole could have got so plugged up that fast? The sled seems to be running better now then it did when it was new, and in the past the plugs have always looked way to dark, I did not look at the plugs yesterday will take a look today. What bothers me is this seem to be an intermittent problem and then would start to bog all the time after several rides. I sure hope it is fixed, only time will tell.

Hole plugged = Brand of oil and infrequency of THOROUGH maintenance

IF you want to diagnose the exhaust valve solenoid in the future, take a pair of MINI- vice grips and pinch off the black rubber 1/4" hose between the "T" and the solenoid and take it for a test ride.

You might discover that it runs better this way, but that's for each individual sledder to determine
