So my daughter was suppose to go and see this today on a school fieldtrip. She is in the 7th grade. When she got home from school yesterday she said that the district is not going to allow them to go, They are going to the Zoo instead. In a news article on KSL it said......"The Utah State Office of Education (USOE) cautioned schools about field trips to see the exhibit. In a letter to districts, the USOE says perhaps only high schoolers in anatomy and physiology classes should go."

If a 5th grader is old enough to have the "talk" and watch a movie about s*x why would they not be old enough to go and see this? I was going to take the day off and go with her class......now I am glad I didn't. Not really into going to the Zoo.

How ridiculous! When it was here in Colorado I took my 5 and 2 year old to the exibit and they loved it. There is nothing innapproriate about the exibit. My kids are fasicinated by the interworkings of the human body.

I suggest taking them yourself. It is really one of the most interesting exibits they have had here in many years.

just go see it

Body World is amazing. Very educational. Your kids will be captivated & learn a lot (I did). It's art & science combined. I wish I seen this when I was young - we just boring text books to look at.

tuduzzle.....I went to it when it was in Denver with my son's 6th grade class. There was about 20 other Jr. High classes there that day. Very intersting exhibit!!

I plan on taking my daughter while it's here. The teacher said if anyone goes before the end of the quarter and writes a short report on something they saw she will give them extra credit.

It is a great exhibit. With that said, I think certain children could have some problems viewing that. I think if they went with an adult that could explain it to them, it would be fine.

Take her yourself.

My kids saw the exhibit with me when they were 9 and 7. It is amazing and very appropriate for anyone, IMHO. I am taking my entire staff! The school district should pull their heads out!
