can someone pleas tell me why the fugg this happened?? look at the lower right (as your looking at it) part of the gas tank. the fawkin paint has a big air bubble in it all the sudden.. tghis thing was painted probably 4-5 months ago. i had some trouble with it and it had to be painted a couple times.. wtf caused this???

Its got a pin hole in tank. My Triumph tank did the same thing. Dealer replaced it and said they've seen it before. On another note we'll be in west, march 9-16, Lodgepole #1, bring some beer and we'll show you places Kurts never been.

Looks to me like it had a little surface rust. It needed to be ground out or treated with rust mort.

Most likely surface rust not removed or treated. If you push on the "bubbles" and they don't really move -it's surface rust. If it is truly a bubble that you can move around by pushing on it - then it's trapped solvent. I think it's the former.

I would say it is a pinhole also. I have done some custom built tanks and had one that the welder did not pressure test good and that is what it looked like. Luckily it did it before I had the paint on.

Improper surface preparation leaving a foreign material on the metal is best. but my guess is rust or a pin hole pushing the paint.

what a beech huh... its fawkin aggravating!!! i dont really know why im selling it.. probably because its here not doing anything... ill see, if it doesnt bring enough, i wont sell it...

it wasnt pressure tested.. i did the sealing and filler work myself.. i thought my boidy work looked great!! however, im no body man but, as many coats of sealer that went in that thing, you should be able to pour acid in that thing and it should be good....
