Body Protection?

hehe just curious, how do you hurt your shins/elbows? I guess i've never worn any protective gear(helmets do not count to this as they are a must) and never thought twice about it

Last year we were going through a little clearing, coming back to the trail out of the riding area. Decided it would be fun to rip it up around the edge of the clearing, found a large log just under the snow that stopped me instantly (thanks for the awsome skid plate Skinz). When we got back to the trailer I noticed that the tube above the footwell on my Dragon was all bent up and my riding pants were ripped. I didn't even realize that I had done this but without the knee/shin pads, I'm sure I would have done some serious damage to myself.

I bought a 2Moto kit last year. Haven't been on a bike in 30 years. One ride and I ordered Thor body armor because I was very very thor!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I thought it would be a good general question that would benefit many!
The wife and I are now going to wear our knee and elbow protection and talk about tekvests.:light:

Broke 4 ribs and split my sternum 2 years ago playing basketball. Took a charge as the other guy was running full speed, he lead with his knee. Adrenaline kept me in the game, but I fell over in the middle of the second half, 2 inched farther to my left and the doc said it would have put a rib through my heart.

Body armor is a MUST for me, I never want to experience that pain again, and if I could get that hurt playing basketball I def. want body armor when I am on a sled that can do 80+ through (or into haha) trees.

i want to use somethign but i can't make up my mind. i want it to not be bulky but provide ample protection. i want to be able to use a backpack without a problem. core savers, impact rigs look nice. can't find any info about the b wear. tek vest looks to bulky. what should i use?

Best thing to do is take your riding stuff in and try it on. I took my normal base layer I wear in, tried vests on with my coat over them and then tried my backpack over that.

If you go try a few on, it is pointless not to take that stuff with and try it that way. You will never know how they fit you unless you have that stuff with, every vest will fit everyone a little different, you need to find the one that fits you..

i need to find someone locally who sells this stuff first. no one out here wears them except for racers. i think in the 5 years i have been riding i have seen 2 people with them.
