who is runnin these aftermarket xenon bulbs in their sleds. Do they work...Brighter?Look cool? Or are they a waste of money. Let me hear it, the good and the bad.

I have used them. They are whiter, I almost think they took out some contrast away from the snow so you lost a little from being able from see the smaller bumps and whatnot. I would say just stick with the normal bulbs. Did look neat though.

I wouldnt waste money on xenon bulbs.. For a real improvement go HID, but that requires DC power. If your sled has a battery, you have it.

Well, from Cyclops M.S.

Ive been working on a kit for the mounted lights on sleds to compliment our helmet mounted HID lights. I should have it all raped up in about a month.
It will be an American made ballast pushing a ds2 HID bulb and a dc reg /rec including a small battery for the 2stroke guys. all in final stages of testing now.

That sounds awesome! I have the sdi 600 summit so I doo have battery already. What do you think your setup will cost? Easy to install? thanks

Its not in stone but..

Im shooting for 129.95 for the ballast and bulb. it will wire in threw a switch, straight to the battery, on sleds that have a battery. slightly higher for machines that require the DC conversion.

I bought some new headlights at haydays. They had a yellow set and a blue set and then a set that was in between. Had a blue/yellow prism to the bulb. way brighter then stock. Won't know how they work till I use them when the snow flies.

Why would you wanna put ricer bulbs on your sled?

I actually got talked into trying some of those APC "Frost Blue" bulbs once ...

They were horrible.

The blue-on-white was terrible, even though they were 'brighter' ... but realistically, they were only brighter to oncoming traffic. I couldn't see worth crap with them.

If you're gonna change the hue of your headlight on your snowmobile, put something in there that's an amber beam like a PIAA Ion-Plasma H3 or H4 bulb or something.

Dogmeats absolutely correct, If you are just changing bulbs and wanting better usable light. then switching to a higher wattage lower Kelvin bulb will work.
a blue bulb will not work well at all for night riding. What Im referring to is HID
lighting. Its completely different than Halogen lights and will work 2 to 3 times better than your stock setup. But if you really do alot of night riding and want to ride like you do during the day. A helmet mounted lights the only way to go.
