BLOWN Polaris 850 Patriot Boosted 60MILES!

Hello everyone! Im new here. I bought a blown 2019 polaris 850 w/ silber turbo.
Previous owner said he ran 50/50 av gas with 91. Blew up at 60 miles..
Ive never seen a piston crumble the way this one did. What do you guys think could have happened?

Detonation.
Ring locator falls out, ring spins, breaks and starts tearing things up.

Some Potential causes.

bad injector
Bad gas
Clutching set to under rev. (Lean and popping)
Clutching set to over rev. (Boost spikes)
Boost leak causing boost spikes over time.

Thanks for the reply, is there a way to check on the injector??
i just installed a crate engine from indy specialty and dont want the same thing happening. Mixed fuel 50/50 with av gas, 50/1 premix on first tank. starts up, runs crisp, smokes alot. would suck for it to blow.

New injectors are $310.00.

How much boost? What elevation are you at? And what clutching?

3# of boost since it's still in break in, up here we're at 0-3000 elevation. I'm not 100% sure on the clutching. The owner before me installed the weights that came with the silber kit.

I manually primed the oil pump, and looked like everything was getting oil.. so I'm not sure. What other way would I be able to check if it's getting oil?

Buy a factory turbo and sell that to someone who wants to repair it every other day

Det was me just writing detonation in shorthand. But basically it’s when your fuel/air mixture is igniting when it shouldn’t be. Also known as “knock”.

Previous owner may have rode it like a rented mule. And the mixture looks like it was pretty lean.
