wow
not sure if i understand this, you were aware of 18lbs boost and knew you had premium pump gas in the tank? i feel kinda sorry for your dealer for putting together such a sled for someone who doesn't understand anything about boosted sleds. you were over 300 hp with an engine the size of a lunch kit on pump gas. i just bought my nitro 2 months ago with stage 2 sc, and within the first day of owning it i researched all i could about running this class of sled. here are some tips for the future, correct me if im wrong guys, but this is what i understand. 8lbs of boost (175hp) safe on pump fuel at 3000 ft. 10lbs boost should run 50/50 race fuel, 10-12 lbs boost fine to run at elevation with head-shim which drops your compression a bit so pump gas is ok. 15lbs boost, 50/50 race fuel......after 16lbs boost, carillo rods and aftermarket pistons should be added (some guys have luck over 15, but most agree thats pushin it for stock rods and pistons), 18lbs of boost, should be straight race fuel, maybe headshim allows 50/50 at this point, but the nitro cannot supply fuel with factory fuel system at 18lbs boost so fuel system upgrade including fuel regulator, fuel pump, and in some cases changing injectors are a must. who would spend over 20,000 on a sled and not do some research, but i guess it shows that in the wrong hands, even a bullet proof machine doesn't stand a chance. and if you have 20,000+ to spend on a sled whats the problem running some race-fuel. im running straight race fuel just caus im too lazy to mix, but its a small price to pay. i used to burn premium + $30 worth of synthetic 2-stroke oil in a day, now no fancy oil to burn so i put the money into better fuel. good insurance. maybe i misunderstood whats going on here, but its my .02
