Blown Head Gasket?

I have an '06 900 RMK. Last weekend I lost the belt and it knocked off the coolant line. I let it cool, threw on a new belt and rode it a short distance where I could get it hauled. The temp hit 250. I've got everything put back together and am getting some bubbles in the coolant tank and the coolant surges up an inch or two when I get on the throttle a little. I also have coolant dripping out of the belly pan around the exhaust but not from the pipe and can not see a leak anywhere. I know it takes a while to get air out of the system but can anyone explain the surging and where a leak may be coming from from around the exhaust?

A good way to tell is blow shop air into the spark plug hole and check for bubbles in the coolant reservoir. Note: Piston has to be @ top dead center.

And they arent gaskets per say, there are two O-Rings per head sealing the combustion pressures, and keeping coolant separate from the engine. Check your spark plugs as well, if there is white buildup on them you are burning coolant.

Plugs are still black. The sled just sat for half an hour and the coolant level dropped about an inch, still dripping on the floor. Mabee a base gasket? I think I'm being overly optimistic thinking it's air working is way out and coolant left over from the hose break dripping on the floor.

could be alot of things. did you check for warpage of the head? could have cooked the water pump seal? also did you burp it? your suppose to run it with the nose in the air or the say the bottom of the engine higher then the top of the rear cooler. you need to find out where the coolant is coming from more specifically. any thing that leaks oil/water will hit the belly pan and run out.

Thanks. I feel real dumb now but I am pretty sure the leak was just coming from the tank overflow when I was adding coolant, I wasn't using a funnel and am sure I was splashing a bunch into the overflow hole. I feel stupid but happy. I replaced the o-rings in the head and everything looks good so far. I am however getting a little foaming in the coolant tank when everything is warmed up but I think the way the return "blows" into the tank this would be normal?
