Blowing Fuse - M1100T

Hey guys -

Pulled into the first play area yesterday and discovered no gauges.
They were working fine in the sno-park.
Checked all connections, pulled the side panel and discovered the 20A "tail light" labeled fuse blown.
This tail light fuse is directly linked to our gauge cluster, including warning lights.
Replaced the fuse with spare and it immediately blew again...
Removed seat, checked battery area and everything looked okay.

Rode carefully with the crew the rest of the day and sled performed fine.

Thought I would check here for suggestions before I get out to the shop tonight to try and sort out the "short" wherever it might be...

Hope to figure it out before I load up for the dealer later in the week.

Thanks!

A buddys was doing the same thing and he took it in to the dealer and they just put some di-electric grease in his electrical connections and it fixed his issue.

The wires behind the reverse actuator are pinched... romove the actuator and cut the loom open and wires will be grounding out on themselves, tape them up and your good to go...

You sir are a HUGE HELP!
This was the problem!
I would have never thought of looking there first, as the fuse is marked tail light & it killed the instrument panel.
The wires got pinched behind the actuator when I added a bit of chaincase oil. There is no cutout to keep the wires free so we notched the lip on the case to keep the wire route free in the future.

THANK YOU AGAIN!:usa2::thumb::beer;

My gauges quit working the other day also and I checked the wires that are behind the actuator and they were not grounding out. Anything else it could be?
