yes today at end of ride. only had boost set at 6 psi today, going back to 12 psi for next ride. little peices all over and lookes like a rat had a nest but cleaned up put newe belt on and all seemed fine.

3" track

i see you guys are running a 3 track how do you like them and are you running stock drivers

It's the best mod I've done by far!! Stupid where it can go compared to the 2.25. I went with 7t because wanted the lower gearing on my PC an think the room upfront is always a plus for clearing snow(not fighting the rotation). But buddies boosted M he just runs it with stock drivers an lil bit of trimming on the corners an seems to work fine.

I blew one 2 years ago when I first put my turbo on. 12# wide open on a lake with 55/65 gears is a dumb move by the way... Have put on about 1500 miles since then and no probs

I blew one really bad wide open in a climb. RPMs went sky high when it happened. I let off as fast as I could. Happened two seasons ago, haven't had any problems. Sled still going strong

It's not guaranteed to be an issue, but it's Russian roulette. I know of a number of motors that have been taken out by blowing a belt, having boost just exacerbates the issue, making it more likely that damage will happen.

I blew one under full boost (9.5 lbs) about a month ago. Replaced the belt, cleaned up the shrapnel, and has been running great ever since--knock on wood. You would definitely not want to make a habit of doing that. I'm watching my belts alot closer now.

I'm not sold on the 3". I'm actually taking mine off and trying the 2.6 this weekend... Maybe its just me but seems like it bites too hard. For the snow I typically ride in I think its overkill. Even with the Mountain tamer on Im fighting it all the time to keep the front end down. Goes right on though with no modifications. :yo:

Bent a crank on a M7 a few years ago after blowing a belt. You will know as soon as you put a new belt on the sled and go to take off, it wont come up on RPM properly and it will sound out of tune. Lost a belt on a highly modded m10000 also and bent the crank. I have blown several belts on other turboed sleds and never had an issue with the crank.

I have seen more problems with a crank on a turbo from detonation than I ever have from a blown belt. Been into several motors than ran fine. Replacing pistons for normal turbo maintenance and found shadowing on the crank from the rod bearings caused by det.

sidehill

Where the crank journal has very very slight dimples in it from the needle bearings pounding on the journal during det

is this hapenning on m1000 or 800? or would det sensor on 800 prevent this from hapenning

I have seen the shadowing on 1 1000 cat motor and 3 or 4 700 cat motors. I have only been into a few 800 motors with turbos and the cranks were good on them. So I would guess the det. sensor helps. Not going to say it cant happen because if you hit the det. sensor you had det and it causes damage even if it is very minor it still hurts the motor. You hit the det. sensor for very long it only takes once to take out your motor.
