blew belt and now clutch is sticking

No warranty unfortunately, what is that ring? Is it supposed to be pressed in to the sheeve? Will be taking it apart tonight or tommorow morning. Just trying to figure out what the fack happened

Check that moveable sheave closely for any outwards cracks radiating out from the center, that steel ring is pressed and peened in to retain your moveable sheave bushing and when it's fallen out like that onto the tower shaft sheave cracking is quite possible basically rendering your clutch junked and in need of a total replacement.

Any dealer worth his salt will warranty that. Every other turbo out there needs a new clutch. That ring rusts and binds on the shaft. The clutch either sticks, or relieves itself of that ring. If I was a dealer, I'd give you a brand new clutch on the spot.

Found a used clutch off an 08- z1 I believe, identical clutches it seems, wouldn't mind getting a spare, whats it worth to get rebuilt? And how did it pop out, anything to do with weights? It had 52g in it when I got it, blew clutch, now I got 60g in the new one, I'm at 800-1000 ft majority of the time

M1100 should have 60 gram weights for 0-5000 feet and 52g for 6-9k feet according to the service manual.

So I got this new clutch on, I noticed the belt is squelling at idle, and after a few miles the inner sheeve is hot to the touch, to the point where you can't keep your hand on it, and the outer sheeve Is cool, picking up a alignment bar in morning to see what's up, would deflection fix this? Or is it an alignment problem?

Sounds like your belt might be too tight i would check deflection or run a thinner washer just to check it would be a easy fix if its too tight.

you will probally find that you will take ALL the thrust washers out for a new belt deflection to set properly.. after the inital break in We end up adding the medium thick washer to bring everything back to spec.
Be careful a new belt and you start your sled- if not up on a stand will run away from you:sad:

Thanks for the input guys, I will check deflection in the morning before I drive 45 minutes for alignment bar, I will post back with my findings!
Should I be worried inner sheave is scorching hot and outer is cool?

Thanks again.
