Blew a Belt Recall ran to 9900rpms

I turned a 1080 belt into little pieces. I just bought the sled 600 fusion.
The sled ran real nice only had 1750 miles on it. I was running a grade at 90+ when it went. I shut it down right away knowing belt or chain. Turned out the belt the guy I bought it from said he had it to the dealer for a sticky clutch and they put on a new belt. If that was the case the belt lasted 80 miles. I run 115s but I thought I would run what it had on it for the rest of the season.
What do I need to do to check for further damage? I put on a spare and ran it home for about 40 miles. Ran good but I took it real easy. Worried about inside damage. Thanks for any help.

That many many RPM and blowing at 90mph is not a good thing. I don't want to scare you, but damage can occur. You can throw your crank out of true. I'm not sure on the 600 lower end, but there could be locating ring damage. Again, this would be worst case scenario type of stuff. Might be a good summer project.

I would definitally check clutch function, alignment, offset, belt deflection, the works. The 1115 belts don't just blow for no reason usually. Something is likely not right.

9900 rpm on recall

When I get back to the sled I will spray ether to make sure I did not take out the pto crank seal. I sure hope I didnt. It was my first day on the sled had a new 1080 as per the seller, that turned into a bunch of 2-3 inch chunks. I will from now on always run at least a 1122 or 115. After it blew I put on another 40 seemed to run good but I did not pound on it kept it under 7700 my spare was a 1080 also. The sled now only has 1870 miles. I have summer projects planned and hope one is not splitting the case.

He said it was a 1080 belt, those do blow and that is why Poo updated to the 115 belt,He was doing 90 MPH for how long we don't know.Maybe the previous owner never broke in the new belt.Try an Ultimax XS-809 they have a 1 year warranty and cost less than $100(denniskirk.com shadetreepowersports.com etc).
Look for belt threads wrapped around the back side of primary clutch, hope you don't find any.If the previous owner told you it had a "sticky clutch" than maybe he was really telling you it needs a clutch rebuild. The new belt he said it had may have been an old belt off a previous sled.
Good luck S/P

Looks like thefullmonte can even sell you one.Keep your money supporting Snowesters.

if its not vibrating, runs good and still pulls rpm..most likely its ok, the smaller stroke on the 6 probably saved it from knocking the crank out of square....

just keep an eye on it, you could pop the primary off and check the runout, but if it doesnt vibrate..it should be ok..... that crank is real beefy just like the 7 and 8 cranks, and as light as a 6 piston is...shouldnt be an issue..thats why I spend the money for 115 belts..although they too can explode, its just rare they do....

Oh, I don't sell anything these days. I just keep links to places I like to support. Bob's does carry the XS-809. I've been running those for years now with really good results.
