What does everything think about the black tunnel on the 2010 summit x?
How will it hold up as far scrathcing, wearing from normal riding abuse?
How did the 50th anniversary models look after a season of use?
Thanks for any info shared.

I like it alot, but it will probably wear out by your feet and legs. Funny how they bring it back now. Anodizing and such, instead of full paint. I think back in the late 90's when they were starting to go to the plain aluminum they had figured 9 lbs just for paint used on a sled tunnel.

They used to almost ALL be powder coated black from the factory.....Mach I's, Mach Z's etc.... They went away from the Pcoating because it is lighter (several pounds according to doo) and it does wear off and scratch, looks good for a few rides, then it wears off where your feet rub on the tunnel...both the flat and the side of the tunnel....the it looks like poop.

The black on my 50th Anniversary is holding up well, a few little scuffs, and the only place the paint is comming off is at the tips of the board cleats. I also have a scratch on the back of the tunnel where something rubbed through my tunnel bag and scratched the finish.

Bonus, the black finish helps keep the ice and snow from sticking to the tunnel, I repeat ...helps ...not eliminates.

Over 900-miles on her so far, and still looking good.

I have done the black tunnel thing as well. i think it looks awsome and stands up pretty good to normal wear, but if you ride the trees alot and get stuck often its really easy to scratch with your shovel. Usually a friend that does it too!!

ya i work at a skidoo dealer as a tech and ive seen sleds from the bush with 400 some odd mile and no wear, and even picking up the sleds with a forklift does not even scratch it.
