Black Marks On Primary.

I noticed a black mark on the fixed sheave on my tra 3 primary, about halfway up. Moveable sheave is clean. What would cause this?

Why on only 1 sheave?

Clutches are out of alignment. The secondary is too far inboard or the engine stop is too tight. Shim out or add a floating spacer to the sec or loosen up the engine stop to bring the primary aft.
