Black Magic going out of business?!

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't think black magic fared too well after Cat moved their race engine stuff to speedwerx in the early 2000's. Since that happened I thought they fell off the face of the earth.

It seems to me that there are quiet a few big bore/pipe shops that are really struggling or completely closing down. I think that turbos took over the high performance market much faster then people expected and these companies didn't react fast enough to changing market conditions. It's really to bad.

Just my observations but most people run pretty close to stock or a turbo now. I haven't seen a big bore on the snow for 3-4 years. I know there are still a few die hards out there with the big bores, but few and far between.

Well just a few years ago you could add a pipe/can, reeds and some other stuff to an engine and get 15hp. BB kits were the way to go for that extra HP. Now the stock motors are pretty much maxed out. BB kits are almost as expensive as a small turbo and the turbo is easier to deal with when you consider the fuel injection of the modern motors.

I expect to see a number of aftermarket parts companies going under.
