Hey Guys,

looking to jump in with both feet. need some direction.

I have a new '17 Husky FC450 I'll be using. Bike is stock except has the FX tank on it

what do I NEED/MUST HAVE to build a good bike?

What is currently the "best" or most desired kit to go with?

I have spent hours reading threads, but I am more confused now

my head hurts
thanks

I did just like you, jumped in with both feet. this is what I did to my 16 yz450f and should transfer over to any bike. recluse core exp 3.0, suspension revalved for snow, pst engine jacket, raze ecu, raze thermostat, radiator braces, radiator fan, heated grips, headlight, trail tech temp gauge, flex bars to help on the trail, home made skid plate, seal savers to help keep snow out of seals, mountain addiction 3.3 gas can, wrapped header, intake pod from rmsmx, timbersled aro 120 le. good luck, it took me 6 months to figure out what I wanted to do and your going to do it in a couple weeks.

You need a spring conversion or spring forks.
Thermobob
TTO temp gauge
Engine shrouds
Hand guards(barkbuster style)
Better battery

Gas and oil changes. [emoji4]

I’m riding a 16 sxf450 w aro 120.

You also need an aro kit. Lol

The handling and performance of this thing is off the charts better than a 16 ts st.

I shied away from belt drives and carbon fiber/ titanium because i’m very Proficient at breaking things.

I shied away from camso due to fisher price build quality, least amount of suspension available and overall weight.

Of the kits i’ve Ridden.
In order of fun factor and reliability.
Aro #1
16 ts st #2
14 ts st #3
Mototrax enduro #4

Your in tahoe, you don't need an engine blanket, it's not cold where we live, just a good covering skid plate. You can get a camso or you can pay at least 2000 more for a kit with a worse track and more rolling resistance. My friend got a camso from michaels Reno for 4300. I've installed 3 of them this year, super easy, everything fits. Wish i could have said the same for my 2017 TS 120le.

Temp gauge
Ktm adventure pegs/in stock down at CMS
AIRPRO fork setup/ you don't need custom cut springs and valving
Good handgaurds
PR2 ECU

Shoot me a PM if you need help. Got a crew of 4 bikes out of south shore.

I think urs has Aer forks right? If so then no need to convert them to springs just send them to Brockstar performance he has a fix for them!!!

thanks guys...

it looks like each kit has its pros and cons.
still undecided.

what temp gauge is the preferred? how do you monitor coolant temps... from the thermobob port or a radiator fin sensor?

I have a P3 skid plate, is that sufficient?

I have a bigger WPS battery for the FX. is that good enough?

If I go with a TS, is the TSS strut the one to get or just the fixed?

is it better to get a spring fork or convert the AER 48 to springs, or have a company set them up for snowbiking?
I sold my buddy my '16 450 XC-F with 4CS forks that I had reworked for me, I bet he would trade me for my AER 48s. Would that be a good way to go?

Looks like the short list will be:

-thermobob
-temp gauge
-hand guards
-bigger foot pegs
-forks addressed.

My cousin just sent his aer forks to Brockstar performance think he had like 400$ or so with the fix for no collapsing and valved for snowbiking!

still undecided on kit.

I can get a TS ARO 120 at dealer cost (leaning this way)

or Camso...

Snowtech about the same cost.

I would prefer to deal with a local dealer.

Any more thoughts on kits?

thanks

Snowtech is going to be a leap and bound over the Camso with the new CMX track. If you set the kits side by side you will instantly see the quality that goes into a snowtech. They are in Utah, and the customer service dept is the CEO.

If you ever sell it the aro it will have the highest resale.

Also it’s the newest design.

You can claim it looks like the snowtech mx all you want but the suspension isn’t close to the same design.

I found a lot of downsides to the yeti ski that don’t exist with the aro ski.

Best be comparing the ARO pricing to the snowtech with the TSS included as it is on the snowtech. And belt drive! And with all the bent ARO spindles on Facebook already the snowtech has a billet aluminum spindle with adjustable positioning

Also none of these kits are worth anything used so don’t waste your time with that logic

That definitely applies to the snowtech mx.........

Lol

Don’t get all defensive now, just stating market reality in Alaska.

Oh yeah 4 1/2’ of snow to ride this last Saturday helps resale if anyone was inclined.........

After having read many posts and comparisons and reviews about the Camso DTS 129 and the TimberSled, I went with the DTS 129.

I wanted the single rail and all the advantages that go along with it. That the price was lower was a bonus but price was not a consideration. I just wanted the best I could get.

Setup and adjustments have been simple and easy. While the TSled dealer is closer, the Camso dealer also happens to be the dealer for my bike, a Beta.

can you link posts about the bent spindles? i am unable to find any

I too had a hard time deciding which kit to go with this year It's getting to where all the kits are pretty dang good. I finally decided on a 129 snow tech they are building it with the New cmx track and the aro ski. It was super nice to custom build it I can't wait to see how it rips:face-icon-small-hap
